One of the few songs I have written from a perspective other than my own...this one I wrote from my wife Dai's point-of-view, as she tries to make sense of the bigger picture of her life. But I wrote this song with Zain in mind, to sing it, figuring it was just her style.
Jigsaw Puzzle
Can’t seem to find my way through the maze of understanding
Just when I think I know, it slips away again
I’m lookin’ in and out for something that eludes me
I run ahead just to find I’m back to where I’ve been
Like a jigsaw puzzle, my life seems to unfold
Will the picture be revealed before I grow too old
I wish I would uncover the meaning to behold
Of the life of greater purpose that my inner voice foretold
Seems as if it’s destiny to find some hidden power
But then I feel so damn small, unsure of what I know
I need a little patience waitin for the proper hour
To cultivate these seeds of light and watch their flowers grow
Like a jigsaw puzzle, my life seems to unfold
Will the picture be revealed before I grow too old
I wish I would uncover the meaning to behold
Of the life of greater purpose that my inner voice foretold
