Midnight calls, the shadows creep,
Secrets buried, silence deep.
A tapping, a rapping, what lies in store?
This is the tale of Nevermore.

Once upon a midnight dreary, I sat broken, weak and weary,
Lost in books of haunted lore, chasing ghosts forevermore.
A sound at the door, like death's own hymn,
Whispers of shadows, pulling me in.
I opened wide, the darkness stared,
The cold night air, it stripped me bare.
No voice, no soul, just the void's embrace,
Yet the weight of doom filled the space.

"Nevermore," the Raven cries,
Under its gaze, my sanity dies.
Perched on the bust, it seals my fate,
Whispering truths I love to hate.
"Nevermore," it haunts my mind,
A cursed refrain I cannot unbind.

Its words cut deep, leaving no choice.

An echo of madness in my brain.
