WORLD RUNNING DOWN
The top percent have hoarded all The American Dream
The rest of us, we live a nightmare you've never seen
As yet we go along our way across the busy street
And way up high tall windows there
Contain the shit-stains laughing at me
You know that the world is running down
Can hear the tick-tock slowing down
About the place there's a feeling we can't go on anymore
I can see the sun up in the sky
While my own son's glad that I died
Unhappy place, spinning 'round
Upon a turntable until we're standing at the door
Their fingers twitch upon the switch
As billboards a mile high
Tell you to drive right into the ditch
And no one ever asks them why
It's all a rouse, a bloody game
The privileged get to see
I lost my life
I lost my fame
But oh my big mouth is just the same
You know that the world is running down
Can hear the tick-tock slowing down
About the place there's a feeling we can't go on anymore
I can see the sun up in the sky
While my own son's glad that I died
Unhappy place, spinning 'round
Upon a turntable until we're standing at the door
What's all this for?
God why'd you wanna keep me here for?
They can't hear me
Anymore than their own inner scream
We're on a train, our shoulders touch
Excuse, pardon me
I'm not the know-it-all you've heard
I tried but that just isn't me
You had it handed to you on a plate
And still you disrespecting me
You don't need love; you love to hate
Don't even know me looking at me
You know that the world is running down
Can hear the tick-tock slowing down
About the place there's a feeling we can't go on anymore
I can see the sun up in the sky
While my own son's glad that I died
Unhappy place, spinning 'round
Upon a turntable until we're standing at the door
