The cover picture is of Swinley Forest which is to the south of Bracknell in Berkshire, UK, photo taken by Timo Newton-Syms - https://www.flickr.com/photos/19935963@N00/5090519820
Swinley Forest is an area of mainly coniferous forest & is bounded by Nine Mile Ride in the north, Bagshot Road in the east, Bagshot town, Camberly town and the Royal Military Acadamy in the south and Sandhurst and Crowthorne in the west.
The area most people think of as Swinley Forest is actually two sections of forest, Bramshill Forest (or Crowthorne Wood) occupying about one eighth of the area on the western side and Swinley Forest itself occupying the rest.
Swinley Forest has great trails to walk, or hike, or to simply wander & explore at your own pace.
As well as relaxing walks Swinley Forest is also the mountain biking capital of England. You can enjoy the many miles of trails no matter what level of rider you are. The forest is filled with high-flying jumps & after tiring yourself, either walking, or cycling, you can get refreshments & lunch at the forest café. There is also an excellent shop to grab those last minute items.
There are playgrounds in Swinley Forest for younger children that should keep them busy & entertain them whilst adults take a breather.
This is an excellent forest that has plenty of activities that will keep you visiting over & over again.
