Most of my working life has been in a warehouse. This song came out of my experiences that always seemed to be the norm when working in any. It seems to be the pre-requisites for those in charge.
As in the discription this song came out of my experiences of working in a warehouse though I can easily see that the discriptions could fit in most places.
If It's Not One Thing
[2022/03/05]
[V]
Where I work, they tell me,
"Get the merchandise in."
"Get it done, on time,
do it with fewer men."
They cry about their budgets
while penny-pinching every dime.
Dealing with these fools ought
to be a crime.
Break:
[V]
Where I work, there must be
ten bosses to one guy.
When the day's running smoothly
not one ever comes by.
But one mistakes once in a while,
they're around like flies to shit
that hits the fan, and man oh man
you never hear the end of it.
[C]
If it's not one thing
for sure, it's another.
If you don't know why
well, go and ask your mother.
Day and days go by
under my breath; you'll hear me mutter.
If it's not one thing
for sure, it's another.
Break:
[V]
Every day I listen as they
make up stupid rules.
Rules they seldom follow
when they need to hock some jewels.
They change their minds more often
than me, my underwear.
Along with my sanity, I'm
starting to lose my hair.
[C]
And if it's not one thing
for sure, it's another.
If you don't know why
well, go and ask your mother.
Day and days go by
under my breath; you'll hear me mutter.
If it's not one thing
for sure, it's another.
Break:
[V]
Oh! Where I work, I'm often
brought before the courts.
Not to explain their faulty plans
but often to eat my shorts.
Try to explain or place the blame on those
who stand around, scratch, and cluck.
It will never get you anywhere,
they're good at "Pass the Buck."
[C]
And if it's not one thing
for sure, it's another.
If you don't know why
well, go and ask your mother.
Day and days go by
under my breath; you'll hear me mutter.
If it's not one thing
for sure, it's another.
