Prompted with the title, Solo In-Flight. An easy listening folk song that is a little sad.

A prompt that my Muse liked.
Solo In-Flight
[2022/01/11]
[V]
Started off a babe in my mother's arms,
the first to let me fly.
Up and down she'd spin me easily;
Her loss a bittersweet goodbye.
My father took the reigns. With him, I learned
I could do almost anything.
Dad was there until he was called away.
When he died, I lost everything.
Break:
[V]
Flew around and hit many reflections
all seemed so real, everyone.
Drifted in flight, sometimes in circles,
became a jack of all, master of none.
Took to the air without direction,
fluttered more than flew.
Thought I'd find myself living without them,
but there's not a single day with a clear view.
[C]
Solo in-flight
miss their guiding lights.
Mom and dad wish you were here today.
Solo in flight,
with many long, lonely nights.
Oh! How I wish you hadn't flown away.
Break:
[C]
Solo in-flight
miss their guiding lights.
Mom and dad wish you were here today.
Solo in flight,
with many long, lonely nights.
Oh! How I wish you hadn't flown away.
[B]
It's not that I'd forgotten what they taught me.
Their faith in me should have been enough.
both were taken way too early,
it's hard flying alone when life gets tough.
[C]
Solo in-flight
miss their guiding lights.
Mom and dad wish you were here today.
Solo in flight,
with many long, lonely nights.
Oh! How I wish you hadn't flown away.
