Story behind the song
The new single, Age of the Apocalyptic Man, is a remake of the third song I ever recorded. The older and shorter title, The Apocalyptic Man, is now over a decade old, and you can still find it on YouTube. Even before becoming a Christian, I was fascinated with themes from prophecy and apocalyptic literature in the Bible. At that time, I somehow believed truth could be found in the end-of-the-world prophecies (Revelation), but could not bring myself to believe what was most important. You know the Gospel. The newly revised version of the song is not what I would call a worship song. That is to say, the Gospel is not preached and there is no mention of the Lords name. Instead, it is a song containing some of my thoughts about the meaning of freedom. It reflects my criticisms and feelings toward the modern culture of compliance with the world government scenario we are witnessing today. There are references to masking and staying indoors, which may be offensive to some. But I intended to be vague so that it would be taken as art or poetry rather than an attack that makes people triggered. So the lyrics, breathing holes smothered and afraid to show your face, can mean whatever the listener wants them to mean. I prefer it that way. Perhaps its too late, though, now that Ive explained it. There is one lyrical reference I want to point out which, you could say, refers to Jesus. Its in the lyric, but weve found a place, in this magnificent race. I intend it to speak for those of us whove found Christ. The place is the house Jesus prepared for us in the heavenly city. In my Fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:2-3) We were awake before midnight and before the clock hit twelve are references to the end of time as we know it, or perhaps the end of our world if God allows time to go on after the world we know comes to an end. I say that because I dont know which will come first: Christs return or a fall of civilization preceding his return? I wont pretend to know the answer to that. One more thing. The lyric, silent weapons for quiet warfare, is taken directly from the title of a chapter in William Coopers Behold a Pale Horse. That chapter of the book, Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars, is an excerpt from a discussion by the Bilderberg Group from the 1950s. You could think of it as an outline of what the Devil, or his followers in the heads of corporations and governments, planned to do to us using media, propaganda, and introducing new social norms. So, silent weapons for quiet warfare refers to the weapons of Satan that are used against us today through media propaganda. Thankfully, we can model our prayers after what is written in Isaiah 54:17, that No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper. None of these things in the world are a reason to fear for those who are in Christ.
Lyrics
this is the age the contestant takes the stage no pressure can't you read the scripture? let freedom ring O death where's your sting? Stay inside if you dont feel safe your mind is filled with hate but a coward self-confined breathing holes smothered afraid to show your face in the new world order by the rules of fate you're given over to complacency the beast system falls in place but we've found a place in this magnificent race we are different now we woke up before the clock hit twelve ...twelve we are different now we woke up before the clock hit twelve we were awake before midnight so listen loud these words are not spoken under my breath ...my breath in derision you'll shake off the truth that may come your way itll be banned today with silent weapons for quiet warfare these are the times that create warriors how can we explain this? it's a holocaust that is faceless our killers our nameless this very minute genocide is being implemented on a worldwide scale this very minute genocide is being implemented on a worldwide scale
