Artist picture
Acoustic folk/folk-rock original singer-songwriters.
We are the remnants of a rock, turned folk turned folk-rock band (named "Open Road") that played together in the 70's and 80's. Today, Mark Porro and Vance Grazio continue writing and performing songs in the genre of those singer-songwriters who influenced us. We, along with recently added bassist Mike LaPierre, have formed this performing and recording trio known as "Currier Square" (named after the childhood neighborhood of Mark and Vance). We also collaborate with former bandmates and other musicians in these endeavors (Mark D. Hastings, Craig Whitson among others)

Story behind the song
inspired by news story of female Venezuelan journalist fleeing her country to seek asylum from persecution in the U. S.
Lyrics
From Chavez to Maduro, Ive witnessed blood in the streets Soon theyll be coming after mine Because of things I believe in, threats to voices of truth I must flee to save my life Piling into the freight cars, by way of truck and on foot Asylum seekers, heading north Crawl through trails in the jungles, fording rivers chin high In search of my life, before I die Traveling the refugee road Thousands of miles from home Please take me in Tired, thirsty and hungry, wilting in tropical heat Fractured souls, bleeding feet Traveling the refugee road Thousands of miles from home Please take me in 3,000 miles behind me, one last border to cross Will I be saved, will I be lost Im just one face among thousands, guided by faith in Gods plan Hear my story, take my hand Traveling the refugee road I can never go home So please take me in
