A parody of Manfred Mann's "Pretty Flamingo." Ever meet one of those people whose yard is just TOO busy...?
This was a Merry-inspired parody, begun while sitting in a Burger King...
On our block ol’ lady buys lots of flamingos
'Cause she loves those plastic ones
Sit there like some tacky prize
Her front yard has up to five hundred flamingos
I confess that pink’s so bright
Far into space lights up the night
We swear and sigh - she blightens up the neighborhood
Yet still she buys those fake silk trees
A windmill stood near ducks of wood
Some sweet day we’ll take all those sh*tty flamingos
The whole suburb will ‘de-camp’ see
Raise value of our property
Sh*tty flamingos, sh*tty flamingos
Her lawn’s a sty - she blightens up the neighborhood
And soon this guy will make his biz
To make ‘em good pink firewood
Some sweet day I'll undermine all her flamingos
I’ll make ‘em fly to Landfill Three
And little pink cubelets they’ll be
Sha-la-la la la la la... sh*tty flamingos
(repeat and fade)
