Story behind the song
There has been a lot of loss lately among family and friends. I wrote this song on a trip back from Corpus Christi back to Austin, while I was working it up in my head I got a call about another loss. This is the first song I've recorded in some time, it's just a rough version and needs some further work, but I hope that you will like it none the less. Thanks for listening.
Lyrics
I Wish I Were Still Dreaming Michael L Prather Last night I had a dream that you were here lying there beside me in our bed all the tears I cried had never fallen that you were gone were cruel words someone said Then I awoke to find it wasn't true the only color in my world was still just blue these days it seems the only time that I feel strong is when those dreams of you come along I wish I were still dreaming I'm holding you in my arms Still believing tomorrow would be ours Side by side we'd go on loving strong forever, I wish I I wish I were still dreaming I find it hard to sleep now without you seems this old bed was only meant for two and in those rare moments when I slip away I hope that I'll end up back in that place Where I'm still dreaming I'm holding you in my arms Still believing tomorrow would be ours Side by side we'd go on loving strong forever, I wish I I wish I were still dreaming All the tears I cried had never fallen that you were gone were cruel words someone said I wish I, I wish I I wish I were still dreaming I'm holding you in my arms Still believing tomorrow would be ours Side by side we'd go on loving strong forever, I wish I I wish I were still dreaming I wish I, I wish I were still dreaming...
