The first of four songs written in a bunch starting in February of 2015. This song was written in a single day as an uptempo piano piece. Later during the recording sessions, a reggae guitar was added and the song came alive after that. The accordion and backup singers introduced a new element into the song as well, but that wasn't planned when the song was written.
Look at me tonight, here I am on my own
(Well) That’s all right, nothing new to be alone
I’ll stay up, in case the phone should ring
But if it doesn’t, well it don’t mean a thing
Look at me tonight, staying in not going out
Leaving on the light, so there won’t be any doubt
No one needs, to feel sorry for me
I’m quite content, without company
Look at me tonight, here I am on my own (solo)
Don’t have to worry, there’s so much to do
I could read, or watch a movie or two
Look at me tonight, here I am on my own
(Well) That’s all right, nothing new to be alone
If someone missed me, I’m sure I would know
But till then, I’ve got nowhere to go
Look at me tonight, here I am on my own
Look at me tonight, here I am on my own
Look at me tonight, here I am on my own
