A big ballad about love. With Michele McArp on backing vocal.
Written over two days in March, 2015. This is an expansive ballad that uses large imagery to convey the depth and breadth of love. I had a hard time nailing down the melody, and at one point had two different sets of chords. Several verses were difficult to phrase properly at first, but now I can't imagine doing it any other way.
Look at the sky with all the stars that twinkle
That is my heart, that is my heart
Now feel the ocean with its waves eternal
That is my heart, that is my heart
Look at the Earth as it spins around
That is my heart, that is my heart
Now watch the lightning strike on the ground
That is my heart, that is my heart
I am the Sun and Moon, and everything between
I am the rainbow that always shines unseen
You are the Alpha and Omega that I need
You are the apple tree, that brings forth the seed
Look at the snow cover all in silence
That is my heart, that is my heart
Now hear the wind shake the world with violence
That is my heart, that is my heart
I am the day and night, and everything besides
I am the eclipse that gives and takes the tides
You are the One and the Only that I crave
You give back to me, every thing I gave
Look at the clouds that reign over all
That is my heart, that is my heart
Now wait for mountains to tumble down and fall
That is my heart, that is my heart
Look hard at me and catch the rhythm beating
That is my heart, that is my heart
Now take my hands and feel my pulse repeating
That is my heart, that is my heart
