I'm trying to evoke a sense of longing and loss against a dreamy backdrop from which there is no escape.
BLOOD MOON
I sleep through the night
By the Hunter’s Moon light
And dream he returns
With a passion that burns
But then breaks the dawn
I know he’s still gone
Yet I seek him by day
Like the hunter her prey
Blood Moon is rising soon
Is it best to live with this need
Or to die and be free
Under the next Blood Moon
Lone wolf bares her soul
Leaving tracks in new snow
I’ll wait until spring
See what warmth will bring
Then stay until fall
Just in case he calls
Wind howls through the cracks
When will he come back
Blood Moon is rising soon
Is it best to live with this need
Or to die and be free
Under the next Blood Moon
The next Blood Moon
