Much like Pinelanders, this song was actually mostly finished at the end of 2008. At first I thought it was the worst song on the album, but literally the day before I recorded the vocals I decided to change my approach and make it sound like I was crying all the way through. This saved it, I think. I also feel the lyrics are possibly the most important on the EP in regards to the narrative, as it is the necessary closer to the first chapter and is more true to the story. It has its quirks, basically.
The inspiration for this song was honestly just because I wanted something with violins. Once again, a lot of the drumming is Aphex Twin based. I got stuck with the middle part, but by suggestion from a friend, I slowed it “the f*** down” to something which was blatantly based on Portishead, and failed miserably. The video, however, I think stand on its own two feet as one of the best of them.
And that’s the end of Chapter 1, hope you enjoyed it!I It will only get more weird from here, promise!
VERSE 1
Oh, suck my dick, ASSHOLE you prick
And then one morning there was a hole in the wall
And she was gone
She wasn’t even there anymore
So I called up the taxi
“Put your miles to the gasoline”
And he agreed and leaned forward so he could see
And he asked "what's wrong?"
He asked "who’s the motherf*** ing monster?"
And he listened to the facts
While I was whining in the back
And he didn’t strike me as a hygienic man in general
CHORUS 1
Oh, and then this guy said
"Be careful of this b*** , you are
Never gonna understand the full effect she's having on you
Be careful of this b*** , you are
never gonna understand the full effect"
Oh, sorry, this is so embarrassing. I have to take this
VERSE 2
Oh, laugh me in my vagina, my brother
And then the next second my phone was ringing
And it was Nolan, my friend
Nolan, my friend, he said
He saw the silhouette of her having sex
With Rex and he's sorry that we broke up so soon
And I lit a cigarette
I littered, and I took a deep breathe
And said we hadn’t broken up
And he needs to tell me where they are right now
CHORUS 2
Oh, and then my boy said
"Be careful of this b*** , you are
Never gonna understand the full effect she's having on you
Be careful of this b*** , you are
never gonna understand the full effect"
BRIDGE
And there was this thought upon a surface
That this girl had left on purpose
And the cabbie looked in doubt
And I was feeling pretty funny
And her phone slammed into voicemail
And I facebooked and I gmailed
And I prayed
And I coughed
And I whined
And I hissed
And I spat
And I growled
And I cried
And then we drove around all night
Until the sun showed up with the light
And then the cabbie kicked me out
Because I ran outta money
And I prayed
And I coughed
And I whined
And I hissed
And I spat
And I growled
And I puked
THE GIRL, you think you can can control me
But you will never really understand
This-a bit of tragedy
It lacks all predictability
And the verdict is that you deserve it
I guess you could never really understand
You would just pity me
And then you would sh** on me
VERSE 3
Slut you love cock too much
And next thing I know I’m standing on Pinelands Heights
And I’m looking down
I’m looking down at the small the crowd
They’re saying “don’t jump”
And I can’t remember how I got there
Or that I’d just been dumped
And then up in the front
In the front there was a cop with a gun
And a loud speaker and he was speaking loud to me
And I hate to admit it, but I was loving the attention
CHORUS 3
Oh, and then this pig said
"Be careful of this b*** , you are
Never gonna understand the full effect she's having on you
Be careful of this b*** , you are
never gonna understand the full effect"
VERSE 4
Oh, this whole time Lizzie was just chilling.
And needless to say, I remembered why I was there
And I jumped
