Story behind the song
This happens to be one of those songs that i can not explain! All i can say is that it just came to me one day and i didn't even have to work hard at writing it. When it came to me, i heard every part of the song. All of the music and vocal parts even the hooky "da da da da da da oh oh" and i knew immediately this song was special! I wrote it during the recording of the "Breakthrough" album. I already had all of the songs for the 2012 album but after writing it i replaced another song with "I Will Fly Away" because i wanted to record it right away without delay. It was burning in my spirit and i couldn't wait for the next album in 2013. It was so exciting to record and arrange it, especially with youngest daughter and eight of my eleven grandchildren. Two of them weren't available and one was too young to sing! So i could only use eight of them. They were all nervous but after only two takes, they nailed it on the third one! This is now one of my top 10 favorites out of my 400+ song catalog! It is a song that is meant to minister to those who belong to Christ and look forward to a better day in the new millennium after Jesus returns and also to reunite with loved ones who are in heaven! This song gives hope of a better life in the hereafter ( Heaven ) to all Christians who have suffered much during this life on earth. Someday "We Will Fly Away" to be with Jesus in Heaven!
