Story behind the song
I really was eating microwave hotdogs and listening to Faith No More right before I wrote this. Erik Ness recorded me and my guitar in the basement of the old Farm and Livestock Bureau building in Las Cruces. He later hired a real country band The Desperados to complete the song. You can now find this song on Albuzerque 22. http://zerxpress.blogspot.com/2005/06/zerxcatalog-albuzerxque.html
Lyrics
PARALLEL WORLD In a parallel world in this same place and time We're in a fancy restaurant on our third glass of wine And you give me that smile and I look in your eyes And our love for each other we can no longer disguise But here in the real world, I just locked the door. I'm eatin' microwaved hotdogs, listening to Faith No More But to that parallel world is where I want to go That alternate reality Where you said "yes" instead of "no" In a parallel world, we're makin' love on the floor And we're so loud that you can hear us in the universe next door And I hear everything, it's drowning out my t.v. I want to pound on the walls between the two realities 'Cause here in the real world I'm stuck in a sad song Where nothin' goes right and love always goes wrong But to that parallel world is where I want to go That alternate reality Where you said "yes" instead of "no" Copyright 1995 Side Gorm Music
