getting away from it all
The Wilderness ©Wolff,Siegel 2012.
I caught a bad case of the big city blues
A common affliction of this life that we choose
Caused by crowds and cold concrete views
I needed some relief from those big city blues
So I packed up my car and away this boy went
Brought my old guitar, with a harp and a tent
Had to put some miles between me and cement
Yeah, I packed up my car, and away I went
To the wilderness
To the wilderness
It's my go to healing place
To the wilderness
To the wilderness
My soul craves that wild space
I set up my tent under a nice piece of sky
That fat ol' moon was a big floatin' pie
A canvas of stars, a comet flyin' by
I set up my tent under a nice piece of sky
Fresh, clean air went deep in my chest
All worries went away as I decompressed
Was finally gonna get some peaceful rest
Fresh, clean air went deep in my chest
chorus
Got out my guitar and I sang some songs
Blew heavy on my harp as nature sang along
Those big city blues were all long gone
I got out my guitar and we sang some songs
The hoot owls in the trees
And howlin' coyotes
Filled the night with harmony
Bullfrogs got the bass
Crickets set the pace
Oh what a sweet melody
From nature's symphony
Here's to the wilderness
To the wilderness
It's my go to healing place
To the wilderness
To the wilderness
My soul craves that wild space
In the wilderness
In the wilderness
The best place to unwind
In the wilderness
In the wilderness
Leave only footprints behind
