Story behind the song
I wrote this song when I was driving home through the lake district late at night. It was a beautiful night and all I could think about was someone who I was in love with for a long time .. I wouldn't let myself believe that I really felt like that about him, until he had to go away somewhere and then I eventually realised the strength of my feelings, but then it was too late.. he'd gone.
Lyrics
The 3am clouds hang like Herringbone waves Superimposed on the sky of dark smoky grey The cold black crags lie ahead and beckon me While the mist lies in the field Low and safe When I close my ears to the world I hear you laughter When I close my eyes I see your smile When everything seems to be falling apart I see your eyes in those 3am stars & I realise Just how lucky we are In every word and every song Directed from my heart to you You don't even see me at all Except in the way I want you to But when I close my ears to the world I hear you laughter When I close my eyes I see your smile When everything seems to be falling apart I see your eyes in those 3am stars & I realise Just how lucky we are
