I've found that luck beats pretty much everything
This was an expression my Dad used to use & I just liked it, thanks Dad
I’D RATHER BE LUCKY
All I wanna do is live until I die, but I won’t sit & cry
When it’s time to go
All I ever hear is don’t live life so fast, or you’ll run out of gas
Better take it slow
But if the good die young I might live forever
Until thy kingdom comes
I’d rather be lucky than good
People making plans for some old rainy day that might be OK
But it’s not for me
No matter how I try I just can’t be like that
If it falls into my lap it’s my destiny
And since I’ve lived this long just doin’ whatever
And I’m still havin’ fun
I’d rather be lucky be lucky than good
I’d rather be happy than wealthy & sad
Although bein’ wealthy sounds nice
‘Cos if I stay lucky as long as I can
I won’t have to go through this twice
And all those lonely souls searching high & low for someone they don’t know
To make their lives complete
They all look for love in letters & on line
But I can’t find the time & I’ve got all I need
‘Cos when I met you I knew I was lucky
And if I had to choose
I’d rather be lucky than good
