Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft
(Carpenters cover) A cover song for the November 2010 CBC Cosmic Challenge. It's a quirky tune, first recorded by a Canadian group called Klaatu and then later made famous by the Carpenters. Enjoy! :)
Story behind the song
This is a recording first for me...the backing track I used for this only had the instrumental, NO backing vocals so the vocals in this are all me -- 4 separate recordings! (Along with the usual duplication and reverb/compression that seems to work so well so far) Unfortunately, this backing version changed the song quite a bit -- left out an entire verse and a few lines, so this is what I had to work with. I also added my favorite Carpenters phrase ("anti-adversary") at the end (even though it wasn't in the original Klaatu version).
