A slap in the face to old relationships.
Written by myself and my friend Brittany Frompovich. We were drinking wine and rolling on the floor laughing while writing this.
My Guitar Never Says No
Dave:
I'm standing here in front of the church,
Preparing to take a wife.
If she doesn't show I might be hurt,
But I won't take my life.
I won't go out and get myself drunk,
I won't wind up in a bar.
I'll go down to the music store,
And buy a new guitar.
Brittany:
Go down to the music store,
They always understand.
A new guitar is easier to hold,
Easier than a man.
Walk on over to the rack,
And just pull one down.
They come in so many shades,
Blues and blacks and browns.
Both:
Chorus:
My guitar never complains,
If I won't let it go.
It never refuses me,
My guitar.....
Never says no,
No, no, no, no, no....
Never says no,
No, no, no, no, no....
Never says no,
No, no, no, no, no....
Never says no.
Dave:
I really love its curves,
My guitar has the perfect shape.
And I can touch it anywhere,
My guitar is the perfect date.
We make beautiful music together,
And she has no regrets.
If I bring another one home,
She doesn't get upset.
Brittany:
My guitar doesn't posture and whine,
Its ego for all to see.
They don't cheat, they don't run around,
I never worry about guitar transmitted disease.
Walk on over to a store,
Just to see them shine.
They come in so many brands,
Ovation, Martin and Takamine.
Both:
Chorus
Dave:
I'm standing here in divorce court,
Preparing to lose a wife.
Brittany:
I might be a little bit hurt,
But my guitar is still in my life.
Both:
I won't go out and get myself drunk,
I won't wind up in a bar.
I'm gonna go home and play,
'Cause I got custody of my guitar.
Both:
Chorus
