Ordinary Man
by Brian Hazelbower
Well I work like a dog on a midnight shift just a number not a name
So many times I wanted to quit and break loose from those chains
But I’ve got a family waitin at home ya and they rely on me
So I give when I can an I say a little prayer for anything we need
I’m an ordinary man take a look an see
I pay my way go to work each day no one carries me
My blood sweat and tears are etched upon my brow ya I’ve been around
I’m and ordinary man
Well Mr Congressman, Mr Senator I think you otta know
You can’t act like I don’t exist and expect to get my vote
All I want is what is right I’m not one to complain
If you’ll just show us some respect I know I’ll show you the same
From an ordinary man take a look an see
I pay my way go to work each day no one carries me
My blood sweat and tears are etched upon my brow ya I’ve been around
I’m and ordinary man
My neck may be a little red, I use the golden rule
I’ll meet anybody half the way but I’m nobodies fool
Just an ordinary man take a look an see
I pay my way go to work each day no one carries me
My blood sweat and tears are etched upon my brow ya I’ve been around
I’m and ordinary man
Sometimes extraordinary dig a little and you’ll find glory
In an ordinary man, any ordinary man
