Story behind the song
She is a four year old girl with cancer. I've never met her, and I don't know her family ... but our church had an incredible fund raiser for her yesterday, raising over $2400. This song is dedicated to Emily and her family, and is a reminder to myself of how sad it is when the innocent suffer, and the reality of Jesus Christ's suffering for me.
Lyrics
No Easy Road ============ Verse I It was a cold reminder when we got the news that day I couldn't tell you how much we cried They said the cancer ... well it did not go away They said there's not much left to try Pre-Chorus It took all of her will to swallow down that pill Holding On, Just holding on And with a warm embrace, I said into her face Hold on. Just hold on strong Chorus There ain't no easy way There ain't no easy road All we could do was pray Oh my Lord please hold on to her soul There ain't no easy road Verse II Just like that evening when my Lord he went pray With tears of blood he would cry If it's your will God take the cross away But for your glory I will die Pre-Chorus (II) It took all of his will to drag it up that hill Holding On, Just holding on And with all of God's grace he finished up the race Holding on. Just holding on strong Chorus (II) There ain't no easy way There ain't no easy road I could still hear him say God into your arms take my soul There ain't no easy way There ain't no easy road All we could do is pray Oh my Lord please hold on to her soul There ain't no easy road
