there are many different things talked about in the song.. rain is actually a person.. a girl.. who was once together with this guy, but then left him for another.. but since the guy loves rain more than just a partner but also like family, there aren't really hard feelings.. the guy just thinks rain is in a "phase" and will someday come back to him.. but will she really..? "when it rains, it pours and i'll be wet with no regret.." "flood me with your love and i will die swimming down.." this song, for me is so rich.. EVERY SINGLE LINE means something.. the most honest song i've ever written.. my personal favorite..
