A traditional Caribbean Folk song put to a soca beat.
Our bass player brought this song back from some caribbean guys he met while serving in the Korean Conflict. It's a traditional island song that has mutated to many different forms and lyrics over the decade.
A Miami friend of mine
Said he had spend some time
With a Bahamian Girl
He met on his vacation
He said they had so much fun
That he wish it were never done
How he miss the sand and sun
And the sweet libations
He say I think I’m in love
My Bahama girl all I thinking of
So I’m going back
To my Bahama Mama
I miss my baby
I’m going crazy
So I’m going back
To my Bahama Mama
My Bahama baby

She said to me I don’t know
If you really have to go
Think about your job and so
and you wife and family
He turned and said pleadingly
Xanadu is calling me
There’s where I met my glee?
And my life long fancy?
He say I think I’m in love
My Bahama girl all I thinking of
So I’m going back
To my Bahama Mama
I miss my baby
I’m going crazy
So I’m going back
To my Bahama Mama
My Bahama baby

So wrote I am MIA
My flight was long delay
So I sat to have a drink
And do some contemplation
That’s when I start to cry
I don’t want to say good by
But no matter how hard I try
I can always feel it
But you know I have no soul
I gave Bahama complete control
So I’m going back
To my Bahama Mama
I miss my baby
I’m going crazy
So I’m going back
To my Bahama Mama
My Bahama baby
