Story behind the song
This is another collaboration with Len. We started out to write a song called "Seven Hours Out", the time difference between our locations, Istanbul and Atlanta but it morphed into Birmingham.
Lyrics
I drove off left her behind Seven hours out I changed my mind Turned the wheel and crossed the line Back to Birmingham Birmingham, Birmingham Seven hours out of Birmingham I found out what a fool I am Seven hours out of Birmingham All those stupid things I said Laid the blame right on her head All along it was me instead Back in Birmingham Birmingham, Birmingham Seven hours out of Birmingham I found out what a fool I am Seven hours out of Birmingham Anger's like a fire, it burns and then it's gone All you get it cold regret and the shame of doing wrong. Got myself a tank of gas Seven red roses and a pardon to ask Right back down those roads I passed Back to Birmingham Birmingham, Birmingham Seven hours out of Birmingham I found out what a fool I am Seven hours out of Birmingham
