This song explains the different stages of Christ, the beginning of His ministry, after His death, and then the anticipated return of Christ. Originally called "Triumphant Entry", Hosanna is a song designed to exhort the body of Christ to praise God.
After writing this third song together as a married couple, Kenny and Precious began singing this song at churches and sharing it with friends. This song is definitely a favorite for us to perform and goes to the heart and soul of the believer.
1st Verse (Kenny): He came to His own and they treated Him like a stranger
Who would've thought the King would be seated up in a manger
Barely escaping danger but bound with a purpose
He came down to Earth's surface to crush the head of the serpent
Teach us how to be servants, walk upright and be perfect
When we were indebted to Satan the merchant He purchased
Us to be His own therefore we rep for the Throne
The Good Shepherd led the way so we could follow Him home
All creation growns waiting for the day of redemption
And every word the prophets mentioned is held up in suspension
Then the silence is broken by the tension that comes
When the realize that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son
He's the anointed One whose Kingdom will never cease
Bruised for my iniquities chastised for my peace
The Kingdom suffers from violence we can't just sit and be silent
Come on and scream Hosanna til we start up a riot! Hosanna!
Hook: Hosanna 8X, (overlapping) Picture the scene is so pretty, the King is hittin' the city, we all screamin' Hosanna so go ahead throw your hands up and wave your banners. It's the triumphant entry, He's come to conquer the centuries, we all screamin' Hosanna so go ahead throw your hands up and wave your banners. Come on, come on, and wave your banners!
2nd verse (Kenny): Ye men from Galilee tell me why do you stand gazing?
Don't you know His return will be even more amazing?
Every tongue will praise Him every knee will bow
All praises to the King who comes wearing many crowns
When we hear the trumpet sound that's when the Jubilee begins
We all gone celebrate the Son Who came and defeated sin
The spotless Lamb, the Son of Man, the One who manned up
Paid the ransom taught us to stand up so put your hands up
It's time to pay tribute to the King of Creation, Jesus, He's the one that we've been anticipating
Since before the foundation and now the moment is here,
And the purpose for our worship and our hope is so clear
Let me hear you give a cheer for the One who wipes away tears
Gives us joy instead of sadness courage instead of fear
Let the redeemed of the LORD scream at the top of their lungs
Give Him praise and adoration The Only Begotten Son Hosanna

3rd verse (Precious): God is the one who's the Son and He won when He ascended to the Throne. When He came into my life in His might, promised me He'd never leave me alone. Now I gotta introduce Him now. Jesus Christ is comin' on a cloud. Every knee is gonna have to bow. Seek the LORD, don't wanna have to doubt whether you're saved or not. The devil wants you to rot, because he's dyin' and hell is hot. We gotta seek the truth, don't wanna be confused. It's through Christ we live, it's through sin we lose. You gotta, let the LORD in and forsake sin and He will, bless you more then and come on in. It's like a, bet you won't win if you go sin but when you, walk with Christ, you can go all in. He is the way and the truth and the life and the LORD is coming back for His wife. Maybe I should say the bride or the church or the people, not the steeple and lights. So you better know the real Christ then. Seek Him now, He'll make the difference. Shed His blood to cleanse us from all sins. Came and gone and shall return again, let Him in. 'Cause Jesus Christ is the Life, Jesus Christ is the Life, He is the LORD who we praise and adore. That's why we lift up our hands, that's why we lift up our voices and scream Hosanna! Hosanna! And give Him glory!
