Electronica with a little bit of everything else thrown in.
My older work is mostly MIDI based, 99% composed with a mouse by clicking notes onto a digital score. My newer work is more mixed-media, including both fairly standard MIDI work as well as recorded sections from acoustic and electric instruments.

Story behind the song
The sine wave is the simplest of all audio signals and is the signal from which all sounds can be derived. The development of this piece was inspired by radio signals and extra terrestrial search programs like SETI. If we ever do find a signal, what would it sound like? A single sine wave is first extracted from chaotic noise. The signal grows in complexity, forming multiple voices, and then it is finally consumed by noise again. The piece was composed with graph paper and pencil and Haskell code in a text editor. It uses the Euterpea package for the Haskell programming language, which allows creation and manipulation of sound at the signal level.
