Story behind the song
Our singer, Micki, showed me some lyrics he had written. They were kind of reflective of all our lives; mostly, being on our own for much of our lives. I came up with the opening riff for it and the rest just flowed. This was the last of the original 4 song demo we recorded at Studio Works. This song in particular is very special to me and my brother Rob. Prior to us putting down our individual guitar leads/riffs, we returned home quite late one nite after recording or main guitar parts and got got a call from our mother... our father had passed away unexpectedly at their home in upstate NY. A week or two after, we returned to the studio to put down our respective lead work. It was somewhere around 3 in the morning by the time we finished. Our emotions, I'm sure, can be heard, and felt, in those notes.
Lyrics
Attitude 4, 3, 2, 1 Most of my life I've been on my own No real place to call my home Someone asks why I'm in this town I walked on by not making a sound Oh this is attitude I play to win, you'll always lose Now that you've all seen the light Everyone tries to keep out of my sight Now you will all know when I walk by Do not approach me or you will die Yes this is my attitude I play to win, you'll always lose (1st lead phrase-J Martini 2nd phrase-R Mrtini 3rd phrase-J Martini 4th phrase-R Mrtini) Most of my life I've been on my own No real place to call my home Someone asks why I'm in this town I walked on by not making a sound Woa...this is attitude I play to win, you'll always lose You'll always lose.....hahahahahaha -End-
