Story behind the song
The original was my friend's first ever record. It was also sent by Elvis to his wife Priscilla from Germany and Kenny Rogers named his twin children after P&P - so I'm assuming one of each!
It was a song I remembered well and I thought a rewrite would be a good idea (I have some STRANGE ideas!). But I also thought 'time for a dance track' and let's bring the story into the modern era, although I couldn't resist a nostalgic, slightly tongue-in-cheek touch too. The listener can decide which bit is which for themselves.
I did an earlier, longer solo version (summer 2009) which included some rapping which I might put up here too. But it was never a finished version, I just know some people are interested in song development.
