here are the original CD notes from Mattias Arter's CD of 1995:
"labyrinth (1990) was originally composed for soprano saxophone. the title indicated a structure, harmonic language (based as it is on the "all-interval" tetrachord), and level of technical virtuosity which present great difficulties for the performer as well as listener. although perhaps suggesting a free-jazz improvisation, the various musical parameters in the three part structure are strictly controlled. but like all albyrinths, there is no guarantee that one will emerge from the other side."
the key clapping sections don't sound as strong on the oboe as the would on saxophone but the oboe is quite convincing at realizing the multi-phonic chords..
