The band's heartfelt tribute to "The Funk Brothers," the little-known group of studio musicians that were responsible for the grooves & licks behind almost every Motown hit that came out of Detroit.
"The Funk Brothers" were the "unsung hero" studio musicians responsible for the famous "Motown Sound" of Detroit's R&B hit era, playing the backing tracks to almost every Top 10 Motown hit. This song is The Blind Chitlin Kahunas' tribute to them, that hopefully, they would all be proud of. This is the only cut on the Kahunas' new release to feature a horn section (The Sax Maniax Horns, arranged by Rob Byham), and it gives the song the "brass" it needed to make it a fitting tribute to those fabulous, unheralded musicians. By all means, do yourself a favor sometime and watch the musical documentary "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown," an exceptional look into the lives & work of "The Funk Brothers." The world is indebted to these musicians for giving us some of the most timeless music there is.
