Riding down this old forgotten road
I see the seasons have taken a heavy toll
Nothing like the road I knew back when
I’d carve this canyon road up with my friends
I was born in the winter of 59
Baby boomer in a long long line
I’ve seen monumental decades come and go
Racing past and gone before you know
And the endless seasons of time
Have washed away all those signs
Of familiar places I once called home
And the places I left behind
Live only in my mind
And stay with me wherever I may roam
Left home to travel and see some more
Had a feeling I’d seen these roads before
On a bullet train with landscape rushing by
Questions want to know the reasons why
So I left behind a very small trace
My footsteps they know the place
And as shadows disappear into the night
I fall into a dream state filled with light
And the endless seasons of time
Have washed away all the signs
Familiar places I once called home
And the places I left behind
Live only in my mind
And stay with me wherever I may roam
If you hear my voice that means I’m near
For you my friend I’m always here
Like the ever present whisper of a song
Brings us all back to a time when we were young
So here I am once again
Riding down this road with my old friend
While the morning sun shines through the ancient trees
We Race on toward some brand new memories
And the endless seasons of time
Have washed away all the signs
Familiar places I once called home
And the places I left behind
Live only in my mind
And stay with me wherever I may roam
