Hats off to Oscar! My wife loves this song because I publicly admit to being a jerk.

Acoustic folk rock, singer-songwriter
I've been singing since I was able to gurgle but only playing the guitar since I was 11, when my "father homeward came one day and gave to me a toy" (Thanks, Tom). That was about 50 years ago give or take a few months and I've been singing, playing and writing songs on and off, during all that time.

Story behind the song
Taken from the famous observation by Oscar Wilde, this extends the idea and is based on the fact that my wife is from the USA and I'm from the UK. I used to think about songs as I'd drive to work and then when I got there I'd write down the ideas and even lyrics. Hence the reference to "my boss". I played a number of guitars on this track, as well as mandolin (with what I like to call my Rolling Stones riff). I had help on bass from Pete Dinely.
