Story behind the song
This is about the only song I've ever written to order. A friend was producing a animated short called "Life" and asked me to write a song for it. I've always felt it is one of my best efforts; really written from my heart.
I knew I wanted a very bare recording. I used a Collings C-10 tuned to Open 'E'. I've always been an admirer of Mike Nesmith's recordings with Red Rhodes, just him on acoustic and Rhodes on Pedal Steel and I wanted to try to emulate the same effect. I think it works well.
