Answers the question, "What does a grandpa do?"
With four grandkids, I've learned what a grandpa does, so I put it in song. Hope you like it.
A Grandpa
A grandpa's in charge of history,
With tales of how things used to be.
Hea€™s a counselor when things go wrong.
A chauffeur on trips both short and long.
A Grandpa chases all monsters away
When children turn in at end of day.
A giver of quarters and a teller of jokes,
A buyer of chocolate and candy and cokes.
Chorus:
He's a helper and a maker of lots of things,
A teaser and a fixer, and he pushes swings.
He even knows how to fix a bike.
And he shows children what God is like.
Verse 2
He's a buyer of stuff that you want to sell,
a keeper of secrets he'll never, ever tell.
A fisher of fish that he says are whales,
He's a teller of some really whopping tales.
A maker of giggles when you are sad,
He sticks up for you when they say you're bad.
A tickler and a reader of stories and books,
He's a bragger of his grandkids and their good looks.
Verse 3
If you drop your cone, hea€™ll give you his,
Hea€™ll help you study for a spelling quiz.
Sometimes hea€™s silly and hea€™ll cross his eyes,
And other times hea€™s very wise.
He plays dress up with sweet little girls
He plays beauty shop and lets them comb his curls.
A certified expert at hide and seek,
It makes him smile when you kiss him on the cheek.
