Story behind the song
I love Tom Waits. I've always wanted to record a version of Such a Scream. I'm very pleased with the results. I hope you feel the same way.
I used the iPhone app called Four Track to record all the tracks as an experiment.
I played my old Hofner Archtop, Fender P-Bass and my Gibson ES-345 thru my Supro ThunderBolt Tremolectric amp. I sang thru a Megaphone for the vocals. I played my Dumbek for the drum beat and besides a shaker I found some things in the kitchen to make a racket with.
After I recorded the tracks thru the iPhone (no external mic was used) I imported the tracks into ProTools/MBox to mix them.
