Story behind the song
I started writing this song while sitting at a piano in a beautiful outdoor amphitheater at the Durango Mountain Resort in Colorado. The song also happens to be in the odd meter of 7/4, giving it the name "Seventh Heaven." After all kinds of rewrites, I don't think it sounds much like what might be evoked by the scenery at this resort, but I like the name... The tune features a number of great Bay Area musicians: Steve Erquiaga on guitars, Paul Van Wageningen on drums, Gary Brown on Bass, and Tom Miller on vibraphone.
