A prog rock song written by Grant-Jackson, Arranged and Engineered by Doctor C, Gary Carciello - Guitars, Doctor C - Keyboards and drums arranging, Rob Grant - Bass, Farrell Jackson - Vocals
This is the very first song I contributed too with the collaboration of Rob, Gary, and DrC. I suppose this is the song that laid the ground work for the formation of Rayon Vert. Rob Grant contacted me about possibly adding a lyric and melody to a completed instrumental. Well prog. rock was not my normal genre of late but I'll try anything once and sometimes twice, lol! Although prog. and classic rock were a big part of my youthful musicianship, recently I had moved towards the earthy Americana genre. Not much difference: Prog rock or Americana, lol! The group hadn't found a singer for this excellent song yet and they were ready to just keep it as an instrumental. When I got the song, what I heard just blew me away! It sounded like world class musicianship to me. DrC's keys, Gary's guitar work, and Rob's bass were so professional that I knew it would take more than just a normal vocal performance to fit with this song. To my surprise, the melody came to me right away. I had a set of unusual lyric on the shelf title Conversational Prostitute but could never find a song for them. So an unusual instrumental without words and an unusual lyric without a song. It was a marriage made in heaven or at least we think so, lol! That's the story.
Rob, Gary, and DrC all really excelled with this song!

Farrell for Rayon Vert
Conversational Prostitute
Chorus
You belong in an institute
Way too old to be dressing that cute
You possess the art of refute
Youa€™re a conversational prostitute
V1
I was at a local club the other night
You sought me out, I could not hide
You started telling me all that was wrong
Another drink as the subject grew long
Chorus
You belong in an institute
Way too old to be dressing that cute
You might possess the art of refute
Youa€™re just a conversational prostitute
V2
There must have been a bubble over my head
I didna€™t hear a single word you said
Youa€™re mouth was moving like a mini buzz saw
But all I ever heard wasa€¦. Bla Bla Bla
Bridge
I really thought your license had expired
The rocka€™s been lifted where you retired
You think youa€™re hearing a knock of opportunity
Youa€™re reading it wrong, lost in your scrutiny
No one knows the truth when you say this or that
You take a inch of rumor, make it a mile of fact
You should be banished, we should pass a law
To stop you from repeatinga€¦ Bla Bla Bla
