Story behind the song
I wrote the lyrics around 2000/2001 and they have sat around like a lot of my stuff for a long time. I met Geoff and asked if he would collaborate with me as it was unfinished business. This is the first track from my forthcoming Heartsongs album. Produced at Wilson sounds Studio, Geoff also performs the vocal on this version.
Lyrics
Like a moth to a flame Paul Parker copyright 2000 When your eyes met mine I knew that I was lost And I knew that I Would soon be counting the cost I knew right there It was going to end right here You say you saw me sigh But you never knew my fear CHORUS Like a moth to a flame I will call your name I am destined to die in your arms tonight Like a moth to a flame feels the joy and the pain I surrender my life and soul No strength To take flight oh no I know that I can't let you go I just can't let you go And you know Oh you've broken me now CHORUS Time after rime You accused me unfairly And Time after time you were wrong Night after night after night I cried my tears alone I could barely hold on My resistance was gone.
