If you're that curious, I'm more than happy to tell you!
I met a guy my freshman year of high school, he went to a different high school. We sort of had a thing. And by a "sort of thing" what I'm really trying to say is there was nothing he'd admit to. He was a senior.
Sophomore year he went to a far away land (He he). The use of a telescope is to see far away things up close. I wanted him close. And thus, how Telescope came to be.
To keep you current, he came home, fell for another girl and I'll never tell him I wrote a song with him in mind.
“Telescopeâ€
Searching for you…
Signs of life to prove…
I spend my time looking with my telescope
To make sure you’re not a lie
If ever I needed someone
I’d look no further than my side
Bridge
Searching far and wide for you
Is somethin’ I don’t have to do
Always where you say you’ll be
Beside me
CHORUS
Searching for you
Signs of life to prove
It’s me that you want
Always gonna be
Searching for you
With my telescope
Could it be you I see?
Lookin’ down on me
‘Cause I believe
Down here my world gets so lonely
When I see you’re not around
If ever you needed someone
Look no further than your side
Bridge
CHORUS
Searching for you
Signs of life to prove
It’s me that you want
Always gonna be
Searching for you
With my telescope
Could it be you I see
Looking down on me
‘Cause I believe
Searching far and wide with my telescope
Could it be you I see
Falling fast toward me
Glimpse of vision
Quick emotion
Could it be you I see
Right in front of me
Why don’t you come and follow me?
