Traditional country swing male duet.
This is a song that started out as a lyric written by Robby. Anyone that wanted to could get it and write the music to it. I got the words, rewrote it, keeping the main idea and quite a few of the lines. Then I asked Robby to sing, play dobro & mandolin on it. He asked Scott Campbell to play fiddle on it.... here is the result.....
Missing Person © 2009 by Hartley/Robbins
Like a snowflake on your tongue
In the days when you were young.
Like the fading spots on the newborn springtime fawn.
A golden beauty on the run
Yeah, she's here but just for fun
When you turn around to touch her, she'll be gone
She's like the dewdrop at the dawn
An April shower in the sun
Like the candy that melts in your hand
Temptation's oh so sweet
What a bitter taste it leaves
When you turn around to touch her, she'll be gone
She's a missing person in your life
Never 'round on those lonely nights
So hard to find her anywhere
Never right, never wrong, simply gone way too long
She's the missing person in your life.
Solo
Like a teardrop on your cheek
Her kiss is warm and bittersweet
Like the daily setting of the sun
Time passes way to soon
January into June
When you turn around to touch her, she'll be gone.
She's a missing person in your life
Never there on those lonely nights
So hard to find her anywhere
Never right, never wrong, simply gone way too long
She's the missing person in your life.
Never right, never wrong, simply gone way too long
She's the missing person in your life.
She's the missing person in your life.
