Story behind the song
We were asked to write something for the Euro Football competition. We were going to call this We All Run Together but Simply Red had submitted something called We're in This Together (which was used). Our producer (who had no hand in this version) thought we had copied the title, which we hadn't. Someone else said our old title was like the Frog Chorus idea!! Well, Gray arrived at Free To Run and liked that it rhymed with 3-2 -1 ...though not at all relevant to anything.
