A contemporary rock ballad all about how you can spend your life searching for something that's been right in front of you all the time.
This song was the result of a songwriting challenge. The challenge was to write, record and mix a song in two to three days for a compilation CD. The theme, given to us at the last minute was, time standing still. The style was to be Beatles related. The ‘Dear Prudence' bass line and the additional ending section gave the song a Beatles feel. This is the song we came out with.
Time is, time was and the time is now.
Everyday the same old news, same old blues, same old crowd.
The sky once so blue has turned to grey.
They say it won't come back and it won't go away.
Time is, time was and the time is now.
Sunshine, moonshine, gotta find the time.
Everyday the same routine I need a change of scene this time.
Get rid of the grey, return to blue.
Can't let it slip away. Don't wanna lose you.
Time is, time was and the time is now.
I've been searchin' and searchin' for most of my life.
Been round and round and round and round and round, but baby.
I've been searchin' here and there, lookin' for my own place.
While all along it was starein' me right in my own face.
Time is, time was and the time is now.
Gonna turn back the hands of time somehow.
I made it back and I'm here to stay. but this time I won't let you get away.
Time is, time was and the time is now.
I've been searchin' and searchin' for most of my life.
I've been round and round and round and round, but baby.
I've been searchin' here and there, lookin' for my place.
While all along it was starin' me right in my own face.
Time is, time was and the time is now.
Time is, time was and the time is now.
Time is, time was and the time is now.
Time is, time was and the time is now.
