Story behind the song
well this song in particular is dedicated to the apathy that's present in today's society. some other ramblings: the apathy is most notably present in the majority of the north american average joe's and jane's the "i-don't-care-icans," as fat mike put it the "why should i worry about you when i can worry about me" type people and their lack of understanding/compassion of world affairs and how they can affect us all. intead of taking a stand against the oppressors of the world. and exposing the media for what it truly is. the people would rather keep silent and not get involved. so through denial of the world's problems they are able to bathe themselves in mass consumption and material worth. living in denial and self hate and all the while trying keep up with the latest trends/fashions in order to feel better about themselves.
Lyrics
Verse 1: Sheltered and isolated from the outside world, you are obviously bemused by suburban teenaged life. a knife is what you need to cut away the dillemas. you have got enough to worry about with fitting in and moving out into your new life. Prechorus: you don't care... about globalization deforestation third world nations no Chorus: the epitome of society, you represent the majority. Verse 2: The time now is golden for seeking the truth and exploiting the mass media for attempting to brainwash us with their technique*. Manipulating the flow of information to take control, to grab a hold, to keep your fear intact. and Its working; your mind is somewhere else. consumed by fashion sense. you can worry less. you have become an I-dont-care-ican.
