Story behind the song
All the bad news you hear everyday. Accept it for what it is. The title is a phrase, that everyone seems to use a lot, so it just struck me as a good song title. Bill Belichick coach of the New England Patriots uses that phrase during press conferences alot.
Lyrics
IT IS WHAT IT IS music and lyrics -- Bob Buoncuore If it weren’t for the here and now What could it have been? Seeing that threshold crossed Not sure what I’ve seen. Living with an ideal Just a stone’s throw away Giving in to the cold steel feel Like a rainy day. (Chorus): It is what it is (The current state of affairs) Not what it could be It is what it is (Another age of despair) Not even a possibility * After a second time Work out your own salvation With fear and trembling Cope with those nightmare deviations An experience so humbling Work out your list of priorities Your heart-felt moments to hold Motivated by the best of intentions It’s ok to grow old. (Chorus Repeat): *You know your hold You know your own You feel the cold You hear the tone The voices stuck inside your head The forgotten, the broken bread Workout your own salvation With fear and trembling Instilled in us before we were born Live with fear, so humbling Reach out to those who need you They are on the same path too Give in to a little joy and laughter Inspite of what you are going through Copyright © 2007 Goodheart Songs/Goodheart Music All rights reserved.
