Lechu Neranena- Nava Tehila version
Psalm 95: 'Come, let us sing to the Indescribable Source of stability and hope. Let us greet Her with thanksgiving and songs full of praise.' It's the first psalm in Kabbalat shabbat.

Story behind the song
This is a Nava Tehila original- written by Yoel Sykes. I played with the Nava Tehila Levites in Jerusalem during the calendar year of 5768, from January to June of 2008. We (they, mostly) composed a completely original, completely beautiful Kabbalat Shabbat service, the CD to which you can now buy. Check out their myspace page at www.myspace.com/navatehila and buy a CD!
This song is a great beginning to the Kabbalat Shabbat service because it invites us to leave behind all that which holds us back, which keeps us in the past, which creates a stickiness around the events in our lives and thereby preempts our ability to feel joy. It says, "GO! Be HAPPY! Sing to the Great Mystery!" It's a joyful way to approach living in the world. That's our mentality come Friday night. The week is done. Shabbat shalom. Lechu Neranena.
