Story behind the song
This hot, timeless country rock/pop tune was written by long-time friend of KEITH LISLE, JEFF WALKER who now resides in Florida. Having known each other for over three decades, JEFF composed the song and permitted his buddy KEITH to record it at Burbank, California. Lead and harmony vocals, electric lead and rhythm guitars performed by another KEITH friend, JOEY HENSLEY, while KEITH played keyboards, drums, electric bass guitar, and other background instruments. The song was also produced, recorded and arranged by KEITH. Take A Chance, according to Keith, heralds from the mid-eighties and is included here as an example of excellent song writing and performing. Our hats are off to Jeff, Keith and Joey. Special thanks to both Jeff for graciously permitting the song to be posted here and Keith for allowing us to hear and enjoy his performance.
