This is about rejoicing in the hope of deliverance. It highlights the parallel between the deliverance of the Jews out of Egypt and the deliverance of the Saints out of this world and into God's Kingdom (heaven).

This is my first Christian song in almost 2 decades. I originally planned it as a Praise & Worship song, but then soon realized it would be less restricted if written specifically for a soloist. This is a second arrangement, which puts more influence on the joyful aspect. It was an attempt to answer the question "How might it sound if Chicago was doing Contemporary Christian music?"
VERSE 1
I had a dream
Moses lead by a pillar of fire
And in my dream
God's children were growing tired
I saw him lift his arms, raise them to the sky
And say,
VERSE 2
"Lord, hear our prayer
We wander through foreign sand
In our despair we look for your guiding hand
When will you take us home to your Promised Land?
'Til then"
CHORUS
"Let's sing together
About this love we have forever
Don't we know that nothing and no one can take away
What we know that God, Jehovah, saved us?
And when we come to Israel He'll wipe our every tear away"
VERSE 3
I woke that morn'
My father would preach today
And on that morn'
He began, saying "Let us pray"
I saw him whisper, "Father, what shall I say?"
He said,
VERSE 4
"Lord, hear our prayer
This earth is but foreign sand
In our despair we look for your guiding hand
When will you take us home to your holy land?
'Til then"
CHORUS
"Let's sing together
About this love we have forever
Don't we know that nothing and no one can take away
What we know that God, alone, has saved us?
And when He comes again, our Lord, He'll wipe our every tear away"
Let's sing together
About this love we have forever
Let's sing together
About this love we have forever
When will you take us home to your holy land?
Let's sing together
(When will you take us home to your holy land?)
About this love we have forever
