Dad wrote this one when I was still a kid. I tried to do it in the same key he did so the singing sux.
MY WIFE'S STILL HERE
You hear on the record of women who've lied
ran off with another or maybe they've died.
You may wonder why I sit here a cryin' a tear.
I'm sad and I'm sorry 'cause my wife's still here.
I sat and I pondered a feelin' so blue.
When I finally decided just what I would do.
Take her for a long walk off a very short peer.
But she's a good swimmer so my wife's still here.
I worked on my next plan for 2 months or more.
In a strange town I lost her in a department store.
But the local police thought they'd bring me some cheer.
They brought her back home and so my wife's still here.
